Phillip Keith Palmer, age 68, of Russellville, passed away on Thursday, February 29, 2024, at his residence.
Phillip was one of eleven children. He was born on September 16, 1955, in Memphis, TN. He was a truck driver for 39 years, which he loved doing, and went by the CB handle “Drifter”. He was a volunteer firefighter, loved fishing, riding motorcycles, and loved to laugh. For the last year or so, he enjoyed sitting in the carport in the sun, and just relaxing. Phillip loved his Lord, his family, grandbabies, and his dogs more than anything. At times of being sick, he would hold on to the promise, “There is Power in the Blood. When you would come to visit for five minutes or three hours, he would always end the visit with “Don’t rush off”. His memory will be cherished forever.
He leaves to cherish his memory, his wife of 46 years, Kathy James Palmer; sons, Kevin Palmer (Crissy), Brent Palmer (Ashley); grandchildren, Brianna Perry (Jonathan), Ben Palmer, Briley Palmer, Kendale Palmer; siblings, Micheal Palmer, Lee Gann (Brenda), Gail Reese (Stevie), Terry Gann (Gail), Sandra Palmer (Carl), Nancy Elrod (DJ); a host of nieces & nephews, and his four-legged friends, Peanut and Daisy.
He was preceded in death by his daughter, Christina Bohannon; granddaughter, Katlynn Palmer; father, James “Buddy” Palmer; mother, Birda Mae (Griffus) Gann; step-dad, Ellis Gann; sisters, Shirley Patterson, Betty Anne Barnett, and brothers, Charles Gann and Johnny Gann.
The visitation will be 6:00 – 8:00 Monday, March 04, 2024, at Spry Memorial Chapel. The funeral service will be at 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, March 05, 2024, at Spry Memorial Chapel. Officiating the service will be Bro. Kevin Palmer, Bro. Brent Palmer, and Bro. Jeff Flemming. The burial will be at Bethlehem Cemetery.
The pallbearers will be Ben Palmer, Briley Palmer, Jonathan Perry, D.J. Elrod, Jerrett Riddle, and Matthew Palmer.
