Phillip Gene Sumner, age 74 of Parrish, passed away peacefully surrounded by family on January 7.
He was a retired veteran of the US Army and served in the Desert Storm and an avid Alabama fan.
The family will receive friends on Monday, January 13, 2025 at 11:00 a.m. at Collins-Burke Funeral Home, funeral services will follow at 12:00 pm. in the Collins-Burke Chapel. Burial will be at Walker Memory Gardens. John Martin will officiate.
He was preceded in death by his Wife-Barbara Sumner; Parents-TW and Ruby Sumner; Brothers-Sonny Sumner, Robert Sumner and David Sumner; Sisters-Brenda Downs and Shirley Sumner.
He is survived by his Children-Christine Spears, Micheal Sumner, Mary Johnson (Brent), Billie Rhodes and Amanda Holloway (Jonathon); Grandchildren-Hailey Wise (Alex), Brodie Wise, Korban Spears, Lily Welch, Tonya, Xavier, Brylee and Tobias Sumner, Nathaniel Johnson, Peyton Johnson (Hannah), Samantha Johnson (Garrett), Karrigan Johnson, Alyssa Harbinson (Jordan), Lindsey Holloway (Tyler) and Addison Holloway; Brothers-Barry Sumner and Troy Sumner; Sister-Kaye Snell; a Host of nieces and nephews.
