Phillip Gary Sparks, 59, died Wednesday, October 31, 2012 at his residence. He was born March 23, 1953 in Mississippi and was an electrician for 40 years. He enjoyed yard work, playing basketball with his grandkids and loved Alabama football.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, November 3, at Deaton Funeral Home Chapel, Belmont, Ms. with Bro. Shawn Davis and Bro. Haskell Sparks officiating. Burial will be in New Bethel Cemetery, Belmont, Ms. Deaton Funeral Home, Belmont, Ms. will be in charge of arrangements.
Survivors are his wife – Tammy Sparks, Belmont, Ms.; two children – Jamie Sparks (Kim) and Ginger McDowell (Erick) all of Belmont, Ms.; his mother – Florene Sparks, Belmont, Ms.; five brothers – Jimmy Sparks, New Site, Ms., Kelly Sparks, Paul Jack Sparks and Donnie Sparks, all of Belmont, Ms. and David Sparks, Florence, Al.; two sisters – Barbara Jarnigan and Charlotte Hester, both of Red Bay, Al.; father and mother-in-law, Jerry and Eunice Ware and seven grandchildren – Jacob Sparks, Lakyn Sparks, Mason Sparks, Trey Sparks, Kendyl Sparks, Eli McDowell and Kaylee McDowell.
He was preceded in death by his father, Jesse Sparks.
Pallbearers will be Ben Guin, Jeff Ware, James Rivers, James McDowell, Wayne Gray, Ricky Credille and Daryl Chambers.
Visitation will be 6-9 p.m. Friday, November 2, at Deaton Funeral Home, Belmont, Ms. and until service time on Saturday.
