Funeral service for Philip Wyane Bolander, age 86, of Fayetteville, TN, will be held at 11 AM Tuesday, March 5, 2024, at Higgins Funeral Home with Bro. Don Hudson and Bro. Ley Jean officiating. Burial will follow in the Blanche Cemetery. Visitation with the family will be from 5 PM until 8 PM on Monday, March 4, 2024, and from 10 AM until the time of service on Tuesday, March 5, 2024, at Higgins Funeral Home.

Philip was born on September 10, 1937, in Lincoln County, Tennessee to the late Johnnie A. Bolander and Mary Suvilla Turner Bolander. He was a 1955 graduate of Blanche High School, attended Middle Tennessee State College (now MTSU) in Murfreesboro, TN and after college served in the US Air Force. Mr. Bolander worked as a purchasing manager with Construction Materials Inc. of Montgomery, AL. Philip was very active in community affairs including Pickin’ and Grinnin’ in Petersburg and Lewisburg, volunteering at the Petersburg Senior Citizen Center, a member of American Legion Post 155, and a member of the Howell Church of Christ. Mr. Bolander enjoyed watching UT Sports, listening to and playing bluegrass music, playing with his Yorkies, and spending time with his family. Philip passed away on March 1, 2024, at his residence, surrounded by his loving family.

Survivors include his wife of 61 years, Josephine “Jo” Bolander; granddaughter, Heather Hamilton (Wallace) Woods; brother, Thomas (Bettie) Bolander; sisters-in-law, Norma Bolander; Karen (Randy) Whitehead, Sharon (Fred) Tate; nieces and nephews, Katera Bolander, Andrew (Marlene) Bolander, Alice Kay Bolander (Brad Beecher), Tracy Lynn Weise, Tammy (Keith) Couch, Carla (Darren) May, Wendi (Cameron) Westmoreland, Jamie Powell, David (Jill) Bartlett, Chris (Christy) Gault, and Timothy Powell; great-nieces and great-nephews, Paige Bolander, Ethan Bolander, Chloe Hallars, Jimmy Hallars, Reagan Elizabeth Weise, and Charles Thomas Weise; and numerous extended family members and friends.

In addition to his parents, Philip was preceded in death by his son, Philip Todd Bolander; brother, Wiley Andrew Bolander; and sisters-in-law, Phyllis Mills, and Janice Gault.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Tennessee Children’s Home, P.O. Box 10, Spring Hill, TN 37174.
