Philip Shipley

Age 50 of Cross Plains passed away Tuesday, August 3, 2021 at Skyline Medical Center. He was born August 2, 1971 in Norwick, Connecticut to Stephen Leroy and Vicki Ann Webb Shipley. He worked for 12 years for the Davidson County Sheriff’s Department and held the rank of Lieutenant. He was currently employed by the White House Post Office. He proudly served his country in the US Air Force during Operation Desert Shield/Storm. He loved riding motorcycles, collecting and shooting guns and doing mechanic work. He also loved wolves and dogs. Philip is survived by his sons, Christian Shipley, Hendersonville, TN and James Shipley, Cross Plains, TN; father, Stephen Shipley, Brentwood, TN; mother, Vicki Shipley, Bloomington, IN; brothers, Trent Shipley, Bloomington, IN and JT (Angela) Shipley, Brentwood, TN. A memorial service is being planned. This obituary will be updated when arrangements are finalized. Committal service and burial is scheduled for Friday, August 20, 2021 at 1pm at Middle Tennessee Veteran’s Cemetery with military honors.
