Philip Keith Guyton was born July 26, 1984, the son of Ronnie and Liz Guyton. Philip grew up in the Guin and Sulligent areas. During his adolescence, he found a love for music. He enjoyed being a member of the high school band and took that love of music to ministry. Philip could play a multitude of instruments, just by ear. From piano, to bass, to drums, and more – he had a natural talent.
In his adulthood, Philip spread the love of Christ through ministry from the pulpit and the worship stage. He changed many lives during his walk in and out of the church building.
Philip was a devoted father to his 1-year-old son, Stetson, as well as a loving husband to his wife of 8 years, Kelsey. Philip’s sense of humor and wit kept them laughing.
As a hobby, Philip was an avid fisherman. He loved learning about the trade and using those skills at his favorite fishing spot, Bear Creek. Philip also enjoyed cheering on the Kansas City Chiefs and Alabama Crimson Tide during football season.
Philip will be remembered and missed by all who knew and loved him.
Philip is survived by his wife, Kelsey; his son, Stetson; his parents, Ronnie and Liz Guyton; his sister, Kim Reeves; his nephews and niece, Landon and Luke Reeves, Asher and Hadley Welsh; his mother-in-law, Renee Boman; his father-in-law, Bill (Sherri) Boman, his sister-in-law, Brittany (Chris) Welsh.
He is preceded in death by his grandparents, John B and Wadeema Guyton, Virginia Godsey.
