Philip Alonzo Hill passed away peacefully on September 25, 2020, just a short 6 hours prior to our dear mother, Mary. One might say that was the longest reprieve he had since their marriage in August of 1959. A double Graveside Service for Philip and Mary Hill will be held on Saturday, October 10, 2020, at 10:30 AM, at Brownsville Memorial Gardens in Brownsville, TN. He was born October 30, 1935 to Emmett Guy and Pearl Alene Covington Hill in Little Rock, Arkansas. He was a hard-working businessman and always dreamed of owning his own. When the opportunity presented to leave the road and settle in one place, he took it buying into an auto parts business and making it much more than it ever should have been. He and mother worked side-by-side to build the business and realize his other dream of owning a house on the water. Always an avid water skier—it has been told that he could ski on one paddle pulled by a john boat—he enjoyed many years in their home at Sugartree, Tennessee on the Tennessee River. Daddy was a sharp dressed man and enjoyed a new pair of suede bucks more than anyone we have ever known. He loved his friends in Brownsville, at the river, Cardiac rehab, and Vanderbilt and never passed up the opportunity to have a cup of coffee and good conversation. He is survived by his sister Martha Paris (Charles) of Ft. Smith, Arkansas; daughter Gigi Prince (John) of Hopkinsville, Kentucky; son David Hill (Susan) of Brownsville, Tennessee; daughter Kathlyn Henderson (Ron) of Murfreesboro Tennessee, along with nine grandchildren and many cousins, nieces, and nephews.
