We regret to announce the passing of Phil Kermit George,88,of Dellrose, TN., who passed away peacefully on August 10, 2024, at Lincoln Regional Hospital in Fayetteville, TN. He has proudly donated his body to Vanderbilt Anatomical Donation Program at Vanderbilt University Medical Center.
Phil was born February 26, 1936, to the late Mr. Kermit L. and Orlena Bryan George in Dellrose, TN. where he grew up and lived on the family’s homestead.
Phil K. George was a Funeral Director for over a Decade at Ardmore Chapel Funeral Home, also Mr. George had 45 years of experience in banking business. He was a respected member in all of his professions. He was a member of Hillsboro Church of Christ in Nashville, TN.
In his free time, Phil enjoyed Alabama Football and New York Yankees Baseball, which brought him joy and relaxation. When he was younger you could find him playing either Tennis or racquetball. An avid car enthusiast, he enjoyed owning and operating many different vehicles throughout his years.
Mr. George was preceded in death by his parents, brother, William Sam George of Pulaski, TN., sister, Dolores George of Nashville, TN.
He is survived by his special grandson, Clayton Mullins of Fayetteville, TN., niece, Stephanie Langford of Dellrose, TN., nephew, Michael George of Murfreesboro, TN., sister-in-law, Faye George of Pulaski, TN.
A memorial visitation will be held at Ardmore Chapel Funeral Home on Thursday, August 15, 2024, from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM. In lieu of flowers, the family has requested donations be made to Giles County Animal Shelter.
Phil Kermit George will be dearly missed by all who knew him, but his legacy will live on through his family, friends, and colleagues.
Ardmore Chapel Funeral Home will be assisting the family with services.
