Petsey Hope Phillips

MAY 11, 1934 – AUGUST 15, 2019

It is with great sadness that the family of Petsey Hope Phillips, announce her passing on Thursday, August 15, 2019 at the age of 85. Petsey loved working in her flower garden and especially loved her day lilies. She was also an exceptional seamstress in her earlier years. She was born in Cold Springs, Alabama to Preston Ezra and Cassie Dee Williams Thomspon. She later married Howard Roosevelt Phillips and they lived a good part of their life in the Birmingham area. She was an Administrative Assistant with the Walker County Department of Human Resources. Her parents and husband, along with her brother, Garry Thompson preceded her death. She leaves to cherish her memories, daughters: Cherry Faith Phillips Maloney of Birmingham, AL and Beth Amy Phillips Hoener of Montgomery, AL.; grandchildren: Amy Prescott, Caitlin Prescott, Garrison Hoener and Ashton Hoener; great grandchildren: Adalina and Trayce Brasher; brother, Elder Mark (Ruth) Thompson; sisters-in-law: Ruby (James) Johnson and Evelyn Adams and a host of nieces and nephews. The Celebration of Life Funeral Service will be at Moss Service Funeral Home on Saturday, August 24, 2019 at 1:00 p.m. Her family will receive friends beginning at 11:00 a.m. until service time. Burial will immediately follow at Shady Grove Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery.
