Peter Juarez passed away on September 22, 2019, surrounded by his loving family. He was born February 2, 1927 in Springfield, Illinois.
He is preceded in death by his parents Pedro and Josephine Juarez, brothers Jess Juarez and Capt. Robert Juarez, USN (Ret.), son Steve Juarez, and wife Julie Gentry Juarez.
He is survived by wife Sandra Dalton Juarez, sister Celia Dart of Springfield, IL, daughter Janice (Larry) White of Brownsburg, IN, son John (Angie) Juarez of Franklin, TN, daughter-in-law Pat Juarez of Simpsonville, SC, step-daughter Janna (Jeff) Barnes of Evansville. Grandchildren Matthew (Tiffany) White, Christian (Teresa) White, Ali (Jonny) Gerber, Daniel Juarez (Sadie), Justin Juarez, Julia Juarez, Maggie (Jamie) Hensley and Hannah (Jordan) Lewis. He has eight great-grandchildren and is also survived by several loving nieces and nephews.
Mr. Juarez received his undergraduate degree and Masters of Divinity from Bob Jones University and attended University of Dubuque Theological Seminary. After serving Presbyterian churches in Illinois and Indiana, he spent a number of years in sales and commercial real-estate. He loved sports and is a member of the Springfield, IL Sports Hall of Fame. His Christian faith was the foundation of his life and love for his family was the cornerstone. His family and friends will dearly miss him.
There will be a celebration of life Saturday, September 28 at 2:00 in the Chapel at Forest Hills Baptist Church with visitation one hour prior to the service.
