Untitled-1THE SHOALS-Many times, people have to give up their pets if they are facing economic hardship, and a pet pantry is a way for people to keep their pets.

Shoals Pet Pantry is a new non-profit organization that was created for the mission of keeping pets with their families and out of shelters by providing pet food to individuals and families experiencing financial hardship in Lauderdale and Colbert counties. We will act as a distributing organization to make sure families who have dogs or cats have the necessary amount of food for survival.

As an official introduction to the community, we will have a booth set up at First Fridays on Friday, June 5 from 5:00pm until 9:00pm located at the corner of Court and Tombigbee Street. We are asking the community to bring any amount of canned or dry dog and cat food to our booth you can donate or you can leave a monetary gift. Our first goal is to collect 200 pounds of food in one night. Helps us accomplish this goal so we can start distributing food to families or individuals who otherwise cannot afford to feed their companion.weasel and scrawny

While you stop by, take a moment to speak to a representative of Shoals Pet Pantry. We are also looking for organizations to partner with and recruit more volunteers.
