Funeral services for Perry Price Glenn, 86, of Moulton will be Saturday, July 6, 2013, at 2 p.m. at Moulton Baptist Church where Mr. Glenn was made a lifetime Deacon in 2009. Brother Jesse Reeder will be officiating. Burial will be in Moulton Memorial Gardens following the service. The VFW and the Sheriff’s Department will be providing an Honor Guard in respect for Mr. Glenn’s service to his country and community. Visitation will be Friday from 5 to 8 p.m. at Lawrence Funeral Home. Mr. Glenn passed away July 2, 2013, from an ongoing battle with cancer. He was surroundeed by family, and in his residence. Mr. Glenn was born June 23, 1927, in Moulton. He served in World War II and the Korean War. His military service spanned intervals from July 2, 1946 through August 12, 1952. Mr. Glenn owned Glenn’s Auto Service in Moulton for over 30 years. Upon retiring as a mechanic, he went on to become a deputy with the Lawrence County Sheriff’s Department. Mr. Glenn retired from the sheriff’s office in 2011 at the age of 82, dur to his battle with cancer. He was a former president of the Moulton Lion’s Club, was an active member of the Mason’s in teh 1950’s, and served 16 years on the Moulton City Council, the last four were spent as police commissioner. Perry Price Glenn was survived by his wife of 69 years, Helen Lindsey Glenn; his children, son, Stanley and Teresa Glenn; daughter, John and Vicki Sexton; grandchildren, Larry and Sharie Martin, Steve Glenn, Ray and Nova Glenn, Sean and Gina Sexton, Aaron Sexton; 10 great-grandchildren; and one brother, Joe and Beulah Glenn. He was preceded in death by his brothers, Verbon Glenn, Aaron Glenn and Lloyd Glenn, as well as father, Thomas Richard Glenn and mother, Sarah Wadsworth Glenn.
Pallbearers will be fellow Deacons of Moulton Baptist Church. The family has requested in lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Moulton Baptist Church Building Fund or the charity of your choice in Mr. Glenn’s name.
