Peppa Lynn “Nana” Houston, 59, resident of Ashland, departed this life on Monday, October 7, 2024, at her residence. Due to Hurricane Milton and family in the Tampa Bay/ Ft. Myers area, funeral services are pending at this time.
Peppa was born July 22, 1965, in Memphis, TN, the daughter of the late Carl and Marie Pitts Houston. She received her education in the Bartlett City School System and was a homemaker throughout her life. Peppa’s family would say that she was a role model for them to follow. Many words could be chosen to characterize her, as she was kind, generous, compassionate, servant-hearted and faithful. She will be remembered as non-judgmental, going out of her way to help those in need, never turning anyone away. Her home was always open and was the gathering place for many. Peppa, who was always ready to go, loved the outdoors, gardening, fishing, and baking the best biscuits in town. She will be deeply missed, and her memory will be cherished forever.
Peppa leaves behind two daughters, Carla Zanes (R.J.) of Rogers, AR and Erika Holland of Memphis, four sisters, Brenda King of Ft. Myers, FL, JoAnn Umberger (Lenard) of Ashland, Rhonda Dunn (Don) of Gilmer, TX, and Melissa Dillie of Millington, TN, one brother, Claud “Bubba” Houston of Memphis, fourteen grandchildren and five great grandchildren.
