Penny Abernathy Laugherty, 67, of Gadsden, passed away Sunday, June 16, 2024 at her residence. She was born August 8, 1956 to the late Clarence Abernathy and Neva Wells Abernathy.
Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Saturday at Wilson Funeral Home with burial following in Walkers Chapel Cemetery. The family will receive friends Saturday from 12 noon until the 2 p.m. hour of service.
She is survived by her husband Hoyle Laugherty; sons Chad, Allen, and Nathan Laugherty; grandchildren Justina, Brandon, Laydon, Mason, Ashton, Trinity, Serenity, and Emma; three great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her daughter Misty Laugherty, brother Clarence Laugherty, and sisters Linda Carter and Brenda Kennedy.
Wilson Funeral Home and Crematory of Fort Payne is in charge of arrangements.
