MUSCLE SHOALS – Effective Monday, December 30, Tom Pemberton, the Chief Integration Officer
for RegionalCare Hospital Partners, will serve as the interim Chief Executive Officer for Shoals Hospital.
Pemberton will step into this role as former Shoals Hospital CEO C. Ross Berry exits the organization for a leadership position with a company based in Jacksonville, Fla.
“This is a great opportunity for Ross, and we wish him well as he takes on this new endeavor,” said RegionalCare CEO Kent Wallace. “Tom is a great choice to lead Shoals in the interim as we work with the local hospital board to find the next leader for the hospital to further Shoals’ tradition of care and compassion for the community.”
Pemberton is not a stranger to the Shoals area. He served as the interim CEO at Eliza Coffee Memorial Hospital from December of 2011 until March of 2012. ECM is Shoals’ sister hospital, and they are both part of the RegionalCare Hospital Partners system.
“I am excited about this opportunity to be back in Alabama,” Pemberton said. “Shoals is a special hospital, with a staff and physicians who care deeply for our patients and their families.”
Pemberton will be at the helm until a replacement is named. No timeline has been set.
