Peggy Sue Brooks Green, age 87 of Huntland, passed away on Friday, November 18, 2022, at her residence surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Holly Tree, Alabama on September 2, 1935, to the late Floyd Franklin and Ilva Irene (Hall) Brooks. A dedicated homemaker, Peggy enjoyed sewing, quilting, gardening, and canning, as well as cooking for her beloved family. She will be remembered for her loving, selfless nature, as she was a hardworking wife and mother who raised six children with her husband. Peggy was a member of Winchester Free Holiness Church. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Mabry Green; and siblings, Joyce Moyers, Barbara Brooks, Franklin Brooks, Irvin Brooks, and Eddie Brooks. Peggy is survived by her loving children, Marsha (Ronnie) Worthen of Huntland, Cathy (Sam) McCord of Owens Cross Roads, Alabama, Mike (Lisa) Green of Belvidere, Sandra Sims of Huntland, Daniel (Tracy) Green of Murfreesboro, and David (Michelle) Green of Enterprise, Alabama; grandchildren, Chastity (Rodger) Paradise, Brock (Melissa) Worthen, Jennifer (Josh) Vandiver, Eric (Maranda) McCord, William Mayes, Lenzi Black, Derrick (Jamie) Sims, Lauren (Daylan) Steele, Ashley Green, Savannah Green, Dakota Green, Kayci (Rory) Hubbard, Erica Tucker, Christian Tucker, and Joshua Green; great-grandchildren, Alyssa Paradise, MaKayla (Bailey) Gowan, Morgan Worthen, Peyton (Carson) Keeter, Lyla Vandiver, Ali and Molly McCord, Hillary Black, Addison and Tristen Mayes, Blake, Baylor, and Bo Sims, Hudson and Brantley Steele, and Mabry Hubbard; and sister, Nina (Kenneth) Little. Visitation will be from 10am-12 pm on Monday, November 21, 2022, at Moore-Cortner Funeral Home. Graveside Services will follow at 12:30 pm at Beech Grove Cemetery with Bro. Rodger Paradise officiating and Brock Worthen, Eric McCord, Derrick Sims, Dakota Green, and Joshua Green serving as pallbearers and Josh Vandiver, Rodger Paradise, Daylon Steele, Bailey Gowan, Carson Keeter, and Blake Sims serving as honorary pallbearers.
