She was known for her amazing work ethic, once walking over the icy Tennessee River bridge to get to work after being told she couldn’t drive.  Additionally, Peggy devoted a great deal of time to gardening, raising vegetables and flowers.  Peggy was an avid gardener and, upon retirement, took her love of flowers to the next level by creating a flower farm called Long Stems. She was a familiar face at the Decatur Farmers Market.

Peggy loved her brothers and sisters. She enjoyed spending time with them, and laughter was always in the room while they were together. She loved her kids and went to great lengths to make sure they were always taken care of.  Despite working full time her whole life, she made time for her grandkids, spending countless hours playing Monopoly and Sorry.

Peggy enjoyed quilting where she spent countless hours creating heirlooms for cherished family members.
