Surrounded by her loved ones, Peggy Price Adair Monroe passed away peacefully on September 8, 2024, in Huntsville, Alabama.

Peggy was born in Hodges, Alabama on April 18, 1937, and grew up in Birmingham, Alabama. She graduated from Phillips High School and attended Auburn University. Peggy was an active member of Weatherly Heights Church of Christ and was an administrative assistant on Redstone Arsenal for many years. She enjoyed gardening, travel, entertaining, and sporting events.

Peggy was preceded in death by her parents, Dessie and Thomas Price, her first husband, Philip L. Adair and her brother, Joe Price.

She leaves behind her husband, Riley W. Monroe; her daughters, Terri Gainey (Dale) and Leigh Ann Adair; step-daughter, Melissa Sanders (Don); her grandchildren, Kelsey Everett, Kenzie Gainey, Michael Evans (Cooper), Emily Cantrell (Derek); step-grandchildren, Allison Accardi (Burns), Madison Monroe, Riley Brechin (Josh), Parker Monroe (Madison), Trey Gordon and Reece Monroe; and great-grandchildren, Campbell, Chloe, Sage, Luna, and Noah.

Visitation will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, September 13, 2024, at Laughlin Service Funeral Home. The funeral service will follow at noon with Michael McLemore officiating. Interment will be at Maple Hill Cemetery following the service.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Weatherly Heights Church of Christ, P.O. Box 4619, Huntsville, AL 35802, Attn: Collis Terry.
