Peggy Joyce Herring, age 67, of Phil Campbell, passed away on Tuesday, July 12, 2023, at her residence after a valiant fight against cancer.
Peggy was a hard worker, a fighter, and a very crafty lady. She and her husband, Grizzly, owned several bar and grills over the years, and ended with the last being Backwoods Grill and Fish Camp. She loved to work in her yard. She loved her family and friends, but especially her grandchildren, and always put her family first. She fought a long and courageous battle with cancer, but now is finally pain free.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Gary “Grizzly” Herring; parents, Albert & Ellion McBrayer; sister, Sarah Bolton; father & mother-in-law, Ralph & Frances Herring.
She leaves to cherish her memory, her sons, Al Herring (wife, Shannon), Chad Herring (wife, Erica) grandchildren, Allie Herring, Elijah Herring, Garrett Herring; sister, Martha McBrayer; several nieces & nephews; and a host of friends.
A graveside memorial service will be at 2:00 p.m. Friday July 14, 2023, at Liberty Hill Cemetery. Bro. Jeff Halcomb will speak at the service.
