A Celebration of Life Service for Peggy Joyce Glidewell Baker, 95, of Michie, TN will be Saturday, August 31, 2024 at 11:00 A M at First Baptist Church Michie with interment to follow in Pebble Hill Cemetery in Michie, TN. Bro. Ben Martin will officiate the service. Visitation will be Saturday, August 31, 2024 from 9:00 A M until service time at First Baptist Church Michie. Mrs. Baker passed away August 28, 2024 at her home after a brief illness. She married Gerald Ray Baker on May 7, 1949. They worked together for 25 years at G. R. Baker Superette and Service Station in Michie, TN. Peggy was a faithful member of Michie First Baptist Church for 74 years. Her faith, family and community were the pillars of her life. She was a beloved member of her community and will be dearly missed by her family and numerous friends. Peggy is survived by her son, Jerome Baker and wife Carol; two grandchildren, Dr. Hayes Baker and Jake Baker and wife Erin; three great grandchildren, Coleman Baker, Benjamin Baker and Evelyn Baker; other relatives and a host of friends. She was preceded in death by her husband of 44 years, G.R. Baker; her father, Monzel “Bunt” Glidewell; her mother, Maggie Glidewell and her sisters, Betty Sue Willis, Frances Killingsworth, Martha Briggs and Dawn Kiddy. Magnolia Funeral Home has been honored to serve the family of Mrs. Peggy Glidewell Baker.
