Peggy Jo Kightly Reed passed away on October 24, 2024, at the age of 67,in Collinwood, TN. She was born on January 26, 1957, in Evansville, IN, the beloved daughter of the late John William and Dorothy Mae Hoover Kightly.
Peggy was united in marriage to Gene Paul Reed on October 7, 1984. Together, they shared a beautiful partnership that spanned 40 wonderful years, filled with love and devotion.
Professionally, Peggy made her mark at Martin Marietta in Kentucky, where her talents shone through her clerical work. However, it was her passions outside of work that truly defined her. She found joy in creating stunning flower arrangements, embracing the great outdoors, and cherishing moments spent with farm animals—reminders of the simple beauty in life.
Peggy leaves behind her loving husband, Gene Paul Reed; her brothers, Lance Author Kightly of Owensboro, KY, and Mike David Kightly (Lori) of Chicago, IL.
She is preceded in death by her parents, John and Dorothy Kightly; and grandparents, Clyde and Jewel Kightly, and Clive and Stalla Lohman.
We invite family and friends to honor Peggy’s memory at the graveside service, which will be held on Tuesday, October 29, 2024, at 2:00 pm at Lutts Cemetery, officiated by Camryn Eaton. Burial will follow, with Shackelford Funeral Directors assisting the family during this difficult time.
