Peggy J. Garland, 87, of Fort Payne, passed away Friday, September 13, 2024 at her home. She was a member of Highland Baptist Church and was a retired educator.
Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Thursday at Wilson Funeral Home with Rev. Brian Maxwell and Rev. Steve Davis officiating. Private burial will follow in Forrest Hills Cemetery in Chattanooga, Tennessee. The family will receive friends on Thursday from 11 a.m. until the 1 p.m. hour of service. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Alabama Baptist Children’s Home, 2681 Rocky Ridge Lane, Birmingham, AL 35216.
She is survived by her cousins, her colleagues from her years in education, and her church family at Highland Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her parents Charles E. and Laura Garland.
