Peggy Irene Stephens, 86, of Toney, Alabama, passed away on Sunday, June 25, 2023, at her home.
She was the daughter of the late Lloyd Lacer and Juanita Briody Lacer.
Mrs. Stephens lived around the Toney area for 28 years and was of the Baptist faith. Her hobbies and passions included collecting dishes, traveling, bowling, participating in board games and card games, as well as playing the organ.
She is preceded in death by her parents, as well as two brothers: William Thomas Lacer and Leslie Gene Lacer.
She is survived by her husband, Marvin “Steve” Stephens of Toney, AL, one son, Tim (Susan) Stephens of Murfreesboro, TN, one daughter, Kay Fluhler of Toney, AL, one sister, DeAnna Lee Cannon of Indianapolis, IN, two sisters-in-law: Glenda Lacer and Faye Stephens of Indiana, two grandchildren: June Tracey and Sarah Stephens, two great grandchildren: Levi Tracey and Liberty Tracey, as well as 15 nieces and nephews.
There will be a visitation for Mrs. Stephens at Ardmore Chapel Funeral Home in Ardmore, Alabama on Tuesday, June 27, 2023, from 3:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M.
Visitation will also be held on Wednesday, June 28, 2023, from 3:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M. with a Funeral Service on Thursday, June 29, 2023, beginning at 10:00 A.M. at Bradley Colonial Funeral Chapel in Boonville, Indiana. Burial will follow at Bates Hill Cemetery in Yankeetown, Indiana.
In lieu of flowers, the family has asked that donations be made to the American Cancer Society.
Ardmore Chapel Funeral Home is assisting the family with services.
