Peggy Gail Thrasher, 74, of Tuscumbia, AL passed away on Sunday, November 5, 2023. She was born on April 13, 1949 along with her twin, Paul Fisher. Visitation will be Thursday, November 9, 2023 from 10 a.m.- 12 p.m. at Colbert Memorial Chapel with a service to follow in the chapel. Pastor Jeff Newton will be officiating. Burial will be in Colbert Memorial Gardens.
She was married to Danny Thrasher for fifty years. They married on his birthday and he passed away on their 50th wedding anniversary. She was a member of Little Bear Creek Baptist Church. She loved God and her family. She also loved her church family and she would be disappointed if she missed a service. She had two children, Melissa and Wayne that she loved with all her heart. She enjoyed just being home and spending time with her sisters and Paul and Karen.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Danny Thrasher; parents, Jesse and Eliza Fisher; son, Wayne Thrasher; brothers, Ray Fisher and Leon Rusty Fisher; sister, Elaine Fisher.
She is survived by her daughter, Melissa Kaye Motes (Laland) of Winder, GA; seven grandchildren, Bethany Michelle Suddreth (Andrew) of Braselton, GA, Stephanie Elaine Motes of Winder, GA, and Westley Jon Motes of Pooler, GA, Hollie Elizabeth Beaver (Adam) Huntsville, AL, Haley Thrasher of Indiana, Dalton Thrasher (Sonya), Johnny O’Neal Thrasher (Jamie); 14 great grandchildren, Adaline Mae Suddreth, Latham Ellen, Peyton Motes, Mason Beaver, Owen Beaver, Alexis Lawson, Alexander Ross Bear, Addison Vivian Bear, Brayley Thrasher, Dexter Thrasher, Michael Fredrick, Nathaniel Frederick, Jace Thrasher, and Chloe Thrasher; sisters, Elizabeth Rogers (Woodrow) of Splendora, TX, Sherrill Hand (Douglas) of Tuscumbia, Al, Faye Fuller (Jimmy), and Sarah Fisher of Smith Lake, AL; brother, Paul Fisher (Karen), her twin of Muscle Shoals, AL; and Cheryl Smith of Smith Lake, AL.
Pallbearers will be Westley Jon Motes, Andrew Michael Suddreth, Bryan Vandiver, John White, Adam Beaver, Terry Fuller, Little Jesse Fisher.
Soloist will be Tonya Aycock.
