Peggy Cranford Jones

Peggy Cranford Jones of Meridianville, Alabama went to be with the Lord on Monday evening while at home. She was 91. Mrs. Jones had been born and raised in Hamilton, Alabama and was a graduate of Hamilton High School.

Mrs. Jones was a Christian and a member of the First Baptist Church of Hazel Green. She will be remembered for being a spunky, fiery redhead who loved her family very much.

She was preceded in death by her husbands, Vester Richard Cranford Sr and Virgil Jones; her son, Vester Richard Cranford, Jr; her sister, Jeanetta Leduke; Her parents, Chester Ray McClain, Flossie Mae Cockrell McClain, and Verlie Emerson McClain.

Surviving family members include her daughter, Denise Cranford Love; her granddaughter, Candice (Ryan) Stewart; her grandson, Tony Love; her grandson, Austin Cranford; her granddaughter, Maranda (Kyle) Phelps; her great-granddaughters, Addison Stewart and Rilee Jo Phelps; her sister, Carolyn (Ken) Morris.

At her request, the family will have a private celebration of her life.
