On Monday, December 19, 2022, Peggy Conn Walker, 77, resident of Ripley, passed away unexpectedly of natural causes at her residence.
Funeral Services remembering the life of Ms. Walker will be at 1 PM Thursday, December 22 in The Heritage Chapel of Ripley Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Ripley City Cemetery.
Ms. Walker was born April 22. 1945 in Philadelphia, MS, the daughter of the late Uther Ellis and Adell Mowdy Conn.
A 1963 graduate of Ripley High School, she continued her education at Northeast Mississippi Community College, Blue Mountain College and Mississippi University for Women. Ms. Walker was employed in the healthcare industry for over 25 years serving as a lab technician for Tippah County Hospital, BioMedical Research Lab and Golden Triangle Hospital to Lab Director for Baptist Memorial Hospital-Desoto County.
A Christian, Ms. Walker will be remembered for the enjoyment of feeding birds, daily visits to Huddle House and visits with her much adored grandchildren. A beloved mother, sister, “Nanny” and “Peggy Poo”, she will be missed by all that knew and loved her.
Visitation will be from 11 AM to 1 PM Thursday at The Ripley Funeral Home.
Memories will continue to be shared by a daughter, Sheri Walker Dickerson of Ripley, one son, Michael Walker (Donna) of Blue Springs, two brothers, Johnny Conn (Mary Frances) of Blue Mountain and Billy Conn of Tupelo, five grandchildren, Ashley Page, Zac Brady, Austin Walker, Tara Blythe and Meagan Cherry and nine great grandchildren, Timothy and Sidney Page, Ava Finger, Halle Jo and Sawyer Blythe, Lila Kate, Emersyn, Annistyn and Jocelyn Cherry.
She was also preceded in death by a sister, Clarie “Katt” Cissom and one brother, Bobby Conn.
