McMinnville resident and Cannon County native Peggy Bowman Hollis, 87, died January 11, 2024, after an extended illness.
Peggy was a longtime member at the Earlyville Church of Christ. A homemaker and Avon saleswoman, she was also a competitive Rook player at the Senior Center. She was the daughter of the late Minnie Smith Bowman and Hoyd Bowman of Woodbury.
She is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law Steve and Linda Hollis of Hillsboro and Barry and Kim Hollis of McMinnville; one daughter and son-in-law Rita and Billy Jones of McMinnville; one brother Richard Bowman of Carthage; one sister Louise Hillis of McMinnville; six grandchildren Terah McBride, Traci Jones, Craig Hollis, Leslie King, Mark Jones, and Cameron Jones; and seven great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Dewey Franklin Hollis; brothers Keith Bowman and Edward Bowman; sisters Ruth Boren, Doris Hibdon, and Shirley Borren; grandson Christopher Hollis, and great-grandson Carter King.
Graveside services will be held at 1:00 P.M. Saturday, January 13, 2024, at the Gardens of Memory Cemetery with Richard Bowman officiating. There will be no visitation at the funeral home as family and friends will meet at the cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Warren County Senior Center or to Meals on Wheels.
