Peggy Ann Green Harwell, age 77, of Lewisburg, Tennessee, died Friday, March 1, 2024, at her home.
Peggy was born November 12, 1946, in Chapel Hill, Tennessee, to the late George and Mary Newcomb Green. She was a homemaker and a member of the Lewisburg City Council. She attended both Bethlehem Baptist Church and Lewisburg First United Methodist Church and loved to sing in both choirs. She enjoyed participating in the local theater and shopping in her spare time. She will be missed by her loving family and friends.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, C.H. Harwell in 2021 and a sister, Sandra Shelton.
She is survived by two sons, Cecil Howard (Tammy) Harwell, III of Murfreesboro; Derek (Lauren) Harwell of Lewisburg; one daughter, Shelly (Kevin) Hurt of Lewisburg; three sisters, Mary Elizabeth Hodge, Anita Slate, and Rebecca (Becky) Lancaster all of Lewisburg; one brother, Donald Green of Lewisburg; six grandchildren and fourteen great-grandchildren.
Visitation with the family will be held at the Chapel of London Funeral Home, 324 West Church Street, Lewisburg, Tennessee, on Monday, March 4, 2024, from 10:00 am until the funeral hour at 2:00 pm.
Funeral Service will be conducted on Monday, March 4, 2024, at 2:00 pm from the Chapel of London Funeral Home with cremation to follow.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to either Bethlehem Baptist Church or Lewisburg First United Methodist Church.
