Peggy Ann Cox, 74, passed away Saturday, June 5, 2021 at Southern Magnolia in Golden, MS.  She graduated from Red Bay High School in 1965.  She was a member of First Baptist Church where she taught Sunday school and was a member of the choir.  She started working at Community Spirit Bank in 1971 and retired after working 40 years.  She was elected onto the Red Bay City Council for two terms from 1992-2000.  She loved watching her grandchildren in everything they were involved with and enjoyed camping with friends after retirement.

Funeral services will be Monday, June 7, 11 a.m. at Deaton Funeral Home Chapel, Red Bay, AL with Bro. Bill Harper officiating.  Burial will be in Hillcrest Memorial Gardens.  Deaton Funeral Home, Red Bay, AL will be in charge of arrangements.

She is survived by her husband of 55 years, Tommy Cox of Red Bay; her sons, Steve Cox (Elonda) of Red Bay, Stan Cox (Ronaka) of Russellville, and Stuart Cox (Tammy) of Hackleburg; two sisters-Sarah Lowery of Florence, AL and Dale Bonds (Thomas) of Tupelo, MS; her grandchildren, Ely Cox, Emily Cox, Michaela Marquis (Logan), Austin Cox, Colton Cox and Fallin Cox and a host of nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Glenn and Villie Malone and two brothers, Jack W. Malone and Dr. John L. “Doc” Malone.

Pallbearers will be Ely Cox, Colton Cox, Austin Cox, Logan Marquis, Joe Buckley and Mike Stockton.

Visitation will be Monday, June 7, 9-11 a.m. at Deaton Funeral Home, Red Bay, AL.
