Peggie Joe Darnell, age 84, of Lewisburg, Tennessee, died Thursday, August 31st, 2023, at Maury County Regional Health Center surrounded by her family.
She was born January 4th, 1939, in Columbia, to the late Mary Josephine Brooks. She was raised by her maternal grandparents, Thomas Lawrence Higgins “Paw”, and Allice Moore Higgins “Maw”. She was the Owner of Parkway Market, Peggies Package Store, and Parkway Auto Wash. She especially loved spending time with her family. She would spend countless hours and conversations with her great grandchildren, Matthew and Annaliese.
In addition to her mother and grandparents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Paul Darnell Sr., one son, Paul Darnell Jr., one brother, Moody Brooks, two sisters, Sarah Tom McKinnon, and Mary Katherine Howell, and one great grandchild, Charlotte Elise Darnell.
She is survived by one daughter, Linda (Mike) Wall of Columbia, one son, Steven W. (Terri) Darnell of Lewisburg, eight grandchildren, six great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be conducted on Tuesday, September 5th, 2023, at 11:00 am from the Chapel of London Funeral Home 324 West Church Street Lewisburg, Tennessee 37091 with burial to follow in Lone Oak Cemetery.
Visitation with the family will begin on Tuesday, September 5th, 2023 at 9:00 am and will continue until the funeral hour.
