Pauline Valera Wallace Monks – Obituary

PaulineFuneral service for Mrs. Pauline Valera Wallace Monks, age 95 of Fayetteville, will be conducted Thursday at 1 P.M. at Higgins Funeral Home with Bro. Bill Ivey officiating. Burial will follow in Riverview Memorial Gardens beside her husband Carl Bryant Monks who passed away in 2004. Mrs. Monks passed away Monday afternoon in Donalson Skill Care Center.

A native of Lincoln County, Mrs. Monks was the daughter of the late Lee Roy and Nora Ellen Moyers Wallace. She was a member of the Camargo Church of Christ, a former employee of Serbin Fashions, a farmer and homemaker. She was a member of the Wells Hill Home Demonstration Club where she served as President in 1943 and again in 1996.

Survivors include a son Earl Monks and wife Renee of Fayetteville, a daughter Ellen Faye Brooks of Memphis, grandchildren Garrett Monks of Doniphan, MO, Amanda Gambill of Fayetteville, Kevin L. Brooks, Paula Butram and Judy Shaver all of Memphis, twelve great-grandchildren and eleven great-great-grandchildren. Mrs. Monks was preceded in death by a son-in-law Wilson C. Brooks.

Visitation with the family will be Wednesday evening from 5 – 8 p.m. at Higgins Funeral Home.
