Pauline “Polly” Collum – Obituary

Pauline “Polly” Collum, of Florence, departed this life on July 23, 2014, after an extended illness. Mrs. Collum was born on April 13, 1920, in Lutts, Tennessee, the third of six children born to the late Jarrett Nelson Brewer and Nettie Lorene Wylie Brewer. She lived most of her life in Florence and was married to Cleburn Collum for 53 years until the time of his death. She was a graduate of Coffee High School, a member of Central Baptist Church, and a member of the Order of the Eastern Star, Florence Chapter No. 5. 

A graveside service will be held today at 10 a.m. in the Florence City Cemetery with Chaplain Danny Russell officiating. 

Mrs. Collum was preceded in death also by her brothers, Reeder, James, and Charles, and sisters, Thelma and Hazel. 

Survivors include her beloved family members sons, David (Barbara), Michael, and Jon Christopher (Angela) Collum; five grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. 

The family expresses thanks and appreciation to her daughter-in-law, Barbara Lovelace Collum, who tirelessly and lovingly devoted herself to “Mom Collum” during her long illness. They wish to thank also the staff of Mitchell-Hollingsworth, and the special caregivers of station four for the love, aid, and friendship shown to Mrs. Collum and Barbara. 

Memorial gifts to Mitchell-Hollingsworth would be gratefully received.
