Pauline Cheney, 80, resident of New Albany, departed this life peacefully on Wednesday, July 24, 2024, following an extended illness.

Funeral services honoring the life of Ms. Cheney will be held Saturday, July 27, 2024, at 12 Noon in the sanctuary of Lighthouse Apostolic Church in Pontotoc.  Visitation will begin at 11AM and conclude at time of service.  Burial will follow in the New Hope Baptist Church Cemetery in Pontotoc.

Ms. Cheney was born September 5, 1943, in Etowah, TN.  She received her education from the Etowah Public School System and was married to the love of her life for 55 years, Jerry Cheney, who passed away August 12, 2022.  Ms. Cheney spent her time as a homemaker for most of life, raising her children and enjoying her grandchildren.

A Christian, and a woman of strong faith, Ms. Cheney believed in spending as much time with family as possible.  With her calm personality she could be described as a wonderful mother, sister, and “mamaw” to her beloved family.

Those left to cherish her memories include one daughter, Bonnie Harris (Don), two sons Gary Cheney (Rejenna) and Wendell Cheney all of New Albany, three grandchildren, Brandon Cheney (Jessica), Nykolas Burk and Tiffany Jordan (Micheal), two great grandchildren, Cheyenne and Eli Jordan.  She was preceded in death by her husband Jerry Cheney, three brothers, Bil, Gene and Berlin Self, and one great granddaughter, Haley Cheney.
