Paula Crook Mardis, age 78, of Jackson, Tennessee, passed away Saturday, January 29, 2022, in the comfort of her home, surrounded by loved ones.
She was born September 11, 1943, in Searcy, Arkansas to the late Harry Leo Crook and Pauline Fredrick Crook. Paula was a faithful wife to her husband and mother of three children, whom she loved dearly. She was the grandmother to seven grandchildren, and nineteen great-grandchildren. She was a faithful member of Bethel Baptist Church.
Paula is survived by her devoted husband, Dr. Marcus Raymond Mardis, II; her daughter, Marta Mardis Ray( Son-in-law, Edward Neal Ray, Jr.) her daughter Marjorie Rhonda Belk of Munford, Tennessee; her son Marcus Raymond Mardis, III (Daughter-in-law Melissa Meyers Mardis), her brother, Michael Lee Crook (Sister in Law, Nancy Jean Crook) of Jackson, Tennessee; her sister, Nina Louise Crook of Little Rock, Arkansas; eight grandchildren, Heather Ray Weaver, Edward Neal Ray, III, Benjamin Seth Ray, Zachary Allen Ray, Nikki Rena’ Barry, Monica Rae Chumley, Madeleine Elizabeth Eila Mardis ; and nineteen great-grandchildren.
SERVICES: A funeral service will take place 11:00 AM Wednesday, February 2, 2022, at Bethel Baptist Church in Jackson, Tennessee, with burial to follow in Harrisburg, AR at Harrisburg Memorial Park Cemetery, with a committal service to be held at 3:30 PM.
The family will be receiving friends on Wednesday, February 2,2022 at Bethel Baptist Church beginning at 10:00 AM.
