Paul Taylor, 97 of Mt. Olive, passed away Feb. 28, 2023 at his residence.
Paul grew up in Dora, AL. Following his military service in World War II, he retired to Alabama and married Berthell Taylor, to live a peaceful life providing for his family. He retried from American Cast Iron Pipe Co. (ACIPCO). He served God as a Trustee at Forestdale Church of God for many years, where he also served as the Adult Sunday School teacher. He spent his last years gardening, building things, watching football and sitting on his deck on sunny days watching the birds.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy Berthell Taylor; parents, Mary Etta Brasfield and John Raymond Taylor and brothers and sisters, Alton Taylor, Celia Moman and Ruth Gamblin.
Survivors include his children, Myra Kelly (Darwin), Pamela Roth (Gerald), Gregory Taylor (Babe Jane); grandchildren, Patrick Kelly (Jillian), William Paul Carpenter, Richard Carpenter; great grandchildren, Liam Kelly and Finlee Kelly along with several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be Saturday March 4, 2023 at 11:00 am in the New Horizon Memorial Chapel. Burial with military honors will follow in New Horizon Memorial Gardens. Visitation is Saturday from 10-11 am.
