Paul K. Sutherland, 89, died Friday, May 29, 2015 at West Tennessee Transitional Care.
He was born October 28, 1925 in Tuckerman, AR the son of the late Grover and Lena King Sutherland. He was retired from Jackson City Schools, he started Teachers Credit Union (now Leaders Credit Union) in 1957. Mr. Sutherland was a member of West Jackson Baptist Church and a longtime member of The Gideons International. He enjoyed working with Samaritans Purse Shoe Box Ministry.
Paul is survived by his son Paul Bryant Sutherland and wife Pam of Jackson, TN, a daughter Kathy Waycaster and late husband Ronny, of Fairfield Bay, AR, five grandchildren and ten great grandchildren with one on the way. He was preceded in death by his wife of 55 years, Charlene and a sister Ruth Saufferer.
Those serving as pallbearers will be Howard Austin, David Sutherland, Marty Hardin, Caleb Hardin, Cody Hardin and Adam Sutherland. The Curtiss Scott Sunday School Class will serve as honorary pallbearers.
SERVICES: Funeral services will be held Wednesday, June 3, 2015 at 3:00PM in the chapel of Arrington Funeral Directors with David Sutherland and Paul Bryant Sutherland officiating. Burial will follow in Highland Memorial Gardens with Rev. Ron Hale officiating. The family will be receiving friends on Wednesday, prior to the service, from 1:00PM until 2:30PM.
