Paul Edward Smith Paul Edward Smith 82 of Huntsville passed away Sunday, July 14, 2024 at his residence.

Visitation will be Wednesday July 17, 2024 from 9:00 am until 11:00 am at Mayfair Church of Christ followed by a church service at 11:00 am with Gary Bradley officiating.  Graveside service will follow at 3:00 pm at Collier Cemetery in Pikeville, Tennessee. Berryhill Funeral Home is assisting the family.

Paul was born on September 1, 1941 in Bledsoe County Tennessee. He is the son of the late Herman and Nelline Smith. He is preceded in death by his brothers Jimmy (Alma) Smith, Clarence “Cuckle” Smith, and JC Smith.

Paul graduated from Bledsoe County High School and attended Lipscomb College. He managed and owned Mill Fabric Store for many years. In 1985, he went into business with his son John Paul Smith and started Green Acres Landscaping, where he continued to work until his sickness forced him to slow down. His hobbies included tennis, basketball, hunting, fishing, wood working, and tending to his many gardens. He was often seen at the gym working out in his blue jeans.

He preached at Bethel Church of Christ in Dunlap, Tennessee for 40 years where he led many to Christ. He was a faithful member at Mayfair Church of Christ where he served as an elder for 12 years and taught countless Bible classes.

Paul is survived by his loving wife of 64 years, Margie Swafford Smith, his son John Paul (Lori) Smith, grandsons Jared (Laura Lee) Smith, Grant (Maggie) Smith, and Blake (Hannah) Smith, and by his great grandsons Jentry Smith, Griffin Smith, and Ryker Smith.

Paul loved and cared for his family, friends, and neighbors. He loved and served the Lord with all his heart, soul, and mind.
