Paul Edward Brandon, 81, of the Adamsburg community, passed away Friday, November 14, 2025. In 1979, he founded and organized a volunteer fire deparment for the Adamsburg community and in 1981, the Adamsburg Fire Department was incorporated. Mr. Brandon served as Chairman of the Board since 1979 and remained active in his service to the department. He attended Liberty Hill Baptist Church and was a member of the DeKalb County Republicans and a member of the executive committee. He was in the construction industry and built many homes in the area.
Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Monday, November 17th at Wilson Funeral Home with Rev. Shaunathan Bell officiating. Burial will follow in Adamsburg Cemetery with full fire department honors. The family will receive friends Sunday evening from 5 until 8 p.m.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 63 years Audra Brandon; his son James Brandon; grandson Eric Brandon and wife Holly; great-grandchildren Ava Kate and J. Cooper Brandon; sisters Carolyn Edwards and Marsha Carson; and brother Todd Simpson.
He was preceded in death by his daughter-in-law Betsy Brandon and brother Larry Simpson.
Wilson Funeral Home and Crematory of Fort Payne is in charge of services.
