Funeral service for Paul E. Mote, age 69, of Decatur, will be Saturday, May 7, 2016, 10:30 a.m. at Shelton Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Michael Mason officiating. The family will receive friends for one hour prior to service. Interment will be in New Friendship Cemetery.
Mr. Mote, who died Wednesday, May 4, 2016, at his residence, was born December 18, 1946, in Decatur, to Herman Lee Mote and Maxie Owen Mote. He was preceded in death by his parents, and five siblings, Wendell Mote, Waymon Mote, Loza Mote, Helen Hogan, and Lynda Ingram. Mr. Mote owned and operated Mote Plumbing in Decatur.
He is survived by two daughters, Amy Long (Damien) of Hartselle, and Allison Moore (Tim) of Priceville; two brothers, Gaylon Mote and Larry Mote (Debbie), both of Decatur; two sisters, Hazel Carpenter and Beverly Howell, both of Decatur; four greatly loved and adored grandchildren, Madelyne Long, Caden Long, Eli Moore, and Gracie Moore; and several nephews and nieces.
The family would like to express their special thanks to Beverly Howell and Mona McTaggart for their compassionate comfort and care for Mr. Mote during the past year.
Pallbearers will be family and friends.
