Born on January 9, 1949, in Jackson, Paul Dean was a dedicated husband, father, grandfather, and friend who will be deeply missed.
For many years, Paul Dean worked as a maintenance technician at the Ed Jones Federal Building in Jackson where he retired. He was an avid outdoorsman with a deep love for hunting and fishing. Paul Dean cherished time spent with his family.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Dee Staggs Rogers; his children, Deanna Meals (Richard), Patti Rogers, and Dean Rogers (Brittany); and his stepchildren, Alyssa Ross (Seth), Chris Harrington, Carroll Meek (Troy), and Alex Williams (Elizabeth). He also leaves behind eleven grandchildren and four great-grandchildren, as well as his sister, Gloria Jean Rye (Troy).
Serving as pallbearers will be David Johnson, Ronnie Mitchell, Danny Wooley, Dean Rogers, Dean Emison, and Emmett Ward.
A service celebrating Paul Dean’s life will be held on Saturday, November 9, 2024, at 11 a.m. at the South Chapel of George A. Smith and Sons Funeral Home, with Tom Stallings officiating. Burial will follow in Bear Creek Cemetery near Pinson.
The family will receive friends on Friday evening, November 8, 2024, from 4 to 7 p.m. and again on Saturday from 10 a.m. until the time of service at the funeral home
