paulLongtime Tupelo/Northeast Mississippi real estate broker, builder, appraiser and draftsman Paul Dallas died Saturday, June 25, 2016 at North Miss. Medical Center in Tupelo after an extended illness. Paul was born in Pontotoc County on June 24, 1928 to Jesse and Lorene Lauderdale Dallas. He graduated from Pontotoc High School in l946. He answered the call to serve his country in the U. S Army during the Korean Crisis and was honorably discharged after 6 years of military service. His medals included the Bronze Star, Good Conduct Medal and the Korean Service Medal. A patriotic American, Paul later graduated from Itawamba Junior College on the G. I. Bill. Paul was a self- employed real estate man for over 50 years owning Paul Dallas Realty and Appraisals. A Home builder, he was a life member of the American Home Builders Association. His other professional pursuits included appraising, sales, brokerage and drafting. He was an active member for many years of the VFW, TREA, Am Vets and a former Tupelo Luncheon Civitan Club and Tupelo Lion’s Club member. He was a longtime member of West Jackson St. Baptist Church in Tupelo.
A service, with military honors, celebrating his life and legacy will be held at 10 AM Tuesday, June 28, 2016 in the Dallas Family Plot at Pleasant Grove Cemetery on Highway 41 south of Pontotoc with Dr. Paul Sims officiaiting. The procession will leave from Holland Funeral Directors-Tupelo Chapel at 9:15 am. Burial will follow immediately as will visitation at the gravesite. Holland Funeral Directors is honored to be serving the Dallas family.
Survivors include his son Tony Scott Dallas of Tupelo. His daughter, Paula Dallas (Grant) of Tupelo. The mother of his children, Gloria Joyce Dallas of Verona. 5 grandchildren, Desmond, Hunter, Jessie, Brett, Jade and Cole. 5 great grandchildren, Riley, Allie, Hudson, Tatum and Jackson. A brother, DeVan Dallas and his wife, Eloise of Pontotoc. He was predeceased by his parents, a son, Mark Dallas, a brother, J. M. Dallas and a sister, Sara Lyn Ishee.
