Funeral services for Mr. Paul D. Childress, age 91, will be held at 2 PM on Saturday, August 31, 2024 in the Shelton-Hunt Funeral Home Chapel with burial to follow in Rose Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be Friday from 5 PM until 7 PM.
Mr. Childress passed away on Wednesday, August 28, 2024 in Milan following a brief illness. Paul was born in Humboldt, TN to the late Elvis Arthur Childress and Velma Pearl Gardner Childress. He retired as a Maintenance Tech from Jones Manufacturing after 47 years.
He was preceded in death by his wife Jane Childress; parents, Elvis Arthur and Velma Pearl Childress; a daughter, Lisa Hensel; a sister, Nettye Hammett; two brothers, Preston Childress and Chester Lee Childress; two infant sisters; two granddaughters, Shalinda Hatcher and Tara Hatcher; and a great grandson, Caleb Terrell.
Mr. Childress is survived by two daughters, Paula Wade (Bob) and Jennifer Childress; a son, Kenneth Childress; six grandchildren, Lauren Wade, Erin Wade, Jason Hartman, Olivia Hartman, Bruce Hatcher and Paul Childress; five great grandchildren, Emma Coleman, Brody Hartman, Nathan Hatcher, Brayden Childress and Lilian Childress; two great-great grandchildren, Carter Patterson and Leo Kinton; and a niece Beth Buchanan.
Serving as pallbearers will be, Brody Hartman, Jason Hartman, Marvin Sikes, Paul Hatcher, Bruce Hatcher and Benny Doyle.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials to St. Jude Hospital.
