Paul Aaron Reynolds, 81, passed away Sunday, February 4, 2018, at Sanctuary Hospice House. He was born July 19, 1936, in Mantachie to Noble and Johnnie Pauline Hood Reynolds. He retired as a Master Sergeant E7 from the United States Air Force after 21 years of service, including service in Vietnam. He retired from IBM after 15 years and was a pastor for 35 years. His pastored three years at Skyline Baptist Church, 23 years at Altar Baptist Church, and most recently nine years at Parkview Baptist Church. He was an avid conversationalist whose hobbies included hunting, fishing, and performing acts of charity.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Thursday, February 8, at the McNeece-Morris Funeral Home Chapel in Mantachie with Bro. Bill Adams, Daniel Hines, and Tommy Mayhall officiating. Burial with military honors will follow in the Oak Grove Cemetery.
Survivors include his wife of 58 years, Lillian Christine Reynolds; four daughters, Pamela Carol Wilson (Steve) of Cedar Bluff, and Angela Kay Gunnells (Philip), Paula Reynolds Richardson (Kevin), and Crystal Marie Reynolds, all of Mantachie; one brother, Gayle Reynolds (Judy) of Mantachie; two sisters, Mary Ann Kilgo of Saltillo and Sandra Peoples of the Ozark community; nine grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters, Johnnie Shurden and Dorothy Joan Reynolds; three brothers, Dale Reynolds, Wendell Reynolds, and Larry Reynolds; and a daughter, Melissa Ann White.
Pallbearers will be Adam Spradling, Jamey Gunnells, Nathon Gunnells, Landyn Gunnells, Dalton Trulove, and Steve Wilson.
Honorary pallbearers will be Case Spradling, Maddox Boren, Brandon Suttles, Casey Trulove, Caleb Guerra, Ashton Wilson, and Hudson Trulove.
Visitation will be from 5 to 9 p.m. Wednesday, February7, at the funeral home.
