Patty Fleming Sumrall, 92, of Huntsville, AL, formerly of Mobile, AL, passed away on Sunday, May 5, 2024. She was born in Enterprise, AL. She was a graduate of Auburn Polytechnic Institute. She married John Sumrall in 1952. She was a homemaker and as a long-time member of Spring Hill Baptist in Mobile, AL, Patty was very active in their mission outreach.
Patty is preceded in death by her daughter, Linda Carstens. Survivors include her husband of 71 years, John Sumrall; son Fred Sumrall (Cindy) of Ooltewah, TN; daughters Teresa Covington (Jim) of Huntsville, AL, and Susan Sumrall of Lincoln, IL; son-in-law Daren Carstens of Itasca, IL; grandchildren Christy Benner (Phil), Alan Covington, Jeremy Ohmart (Emily), Daniel Ohmart, Ruth Hale (Dustin), Timothy Carstens, Matthew Carstens, Samuel Carstens, and Madelyn Sumrall; great-grandchildren Anna Benner, Philip Benner, and Sophia Ohmart; and brother Bobby Fleming (Carolyn) of Enterprise, AL.
Visitation will be Friday, May 10th at 10:00 am at First Baptist Church Chapel, followed by a service at 11:00 am
