Pattie Sue Blanton was born March 6, 1932 in Decatur County, TN, the daughter of the late Thomas Arthur and Exie E. Wyatt McCorkle.
She was united in marriage to C. E. Blanton, Jr., who preceded her in death on July 14, 1996.
Mrs. Blanton earned an Associate of Arts degree from Bethel College. She was employed by the McNairy County Department of Education for over 30 years, working as a teacher, assistant teacher, and teacher’s aide. She enjoyed gardening, raising flowers and vegetables. She had a yard full of tomato plants, and made sure that they were watered and tended to every day. Mrs. Blanton was a member of the Lebanon United Methodist Church and the Michie Senior Citizens.
Mrs. Blanton departed this life on October 26, 2017 in Tupelo, Mississippi at the age of 85 Years, 7 Months, 20 Days. She is survived by two sons, Steve Vatalaro of Shiloh, TN and Jeff Vatalaro and wife Connie of Corinth, MS; two granddaughters, Misty Pierce and husband John and Holley Vatalaro, all of Michie, TN; a great-granddaughter, Kalee Vatalaro; and many extended family and friends.
In addition to her husband and parents, Mrs. Blanton was preceded in death by a brother, Thomas Arthur McCorkle, Jr.
