Patsy “Pat” Lou Mabrey Ellis, age 88 formerly of Estill Springs, passed away peacefully at Vitas Hospice Center in Rockledge, Florida on Tuesday, September 8, 2020. She was born on October 24, 1931 in Lexington, Missouri, the only child of Clarence John and Kathryn Porter Tanner Mabrey. After graduating from Chillicothe Business School in Chillicothe, Missouri, Pat worked as a fingerprint clerk for the FBI in Washington, D.C. under J. Edgar Hoover. There she met and married Joseph Donald Ellis, a member of the USAF stationed at the Pentagon. Upon their retirement, they made their home in Estill Springs, Tennessee. They were married for sixty-five years. After Joe’s passing in 2017, Pat went to live with her son and daughter-in-law, Mike and Tammy Ellis, in Merritt Island, Florida. Pat was a member of Bethel United Methodist Church in Winchester, Tennessee. Affectionately known as Nin by her family, she is survived by her children, Tim (Debbie) Ellis of Brandon, Florida, Kathy (Jimmy) Prince of Winchester, Tennessee, the late Mike (Tammy) Ellis of Merritt Island, Florida, Pat (Maria) Ellis of Dumfries, Virginia, and DJ (Denise) Ellis of Indialantic, Florida; grandchildren, Christopher (Ashley) Ellis, Joshua (Alexa) Gaby, Matthew (Scott) Gaby, Andrew (Carlie) Gaby, Jim Prince (fiancée Brittany Apple), Jamie Prince, Alysyn, Annalisa, Alexis, and Michael Thomas Ellis, John and Jane Ellis, Kaylan and Cameron Ellis, and Gabriella Quintero; great-grandchildren, Makenzie, Madison, and Memphis Ellis, Amelia, Chance, and Brooks Gaby, and Langley and Gunner Gaby. Pat is also survived by brother-in-law, Robert Ellis; sisters-in-law, Virginia Rice and Adelen McGee; several nieces and nephews; and her beloved cat, Kirby. Visitation will be from 2-4 pm on Friday, September 25, 2020 at Moore-Cortner Funeral Home. Graveside Services will immediately follow at Franklin Memorial Gardens with Pastor Ken Ervin officiating.
