Patsy Marie Wise has met her Creator and joyfully reunited with her late son, Christopher “Chris” Thomas, and his dad, Clifton “Bugg” Thomas, around the throne of God for eternity. Patsy was stricken with cancer about three years ago and succumbed to her illness at 12:04 AM Friday, November 17, 2023 at North Miss. Medical Center Hospice Unit. Born in Okolona on November 22, 1960 to the late Louie Wise and Jeanette Gray Wise, Patsy would have celebrated her 63rd birthday in a few days. After graduating from Chickasaw Academy, she began a lifetime of working starting at Indian Creek Apparel in Okolona later working several years at Lucky Star Industries in Nettleton. Her longest tenure of work was with Aberdeen RV Center where she was supervisor/bookkeeper of the parts department. Before her health failed, she was employed with Andrew Automotive in Tupelo as a bookkeeper. Patsy was feisty lady, had a cute personality, and enjoyed entertaining and being entertained by her family and many friends. She loved her cats, her many trips to the Mississippi Gulf Coast, and listening to music, especially Kid Rock and Alabama. Patsy’s life was forever altered when her 16 year only son, Christopher, perished in an automobile accident on Nov. 19, 2005 at age 16. She was a longtime member of the Gatlin Street Church of Christ in Okolona.
A graveside service only will be held at 4 PM Monday, November 20, 2023, at Oddfellows Cemetery in Okolona with Rev. Dr. Randy Lewman officiating. She will be laid to rest beside her son, Chris. Friends may visit with the family immediately following the service at the Cemetery. Holland Funeral Directors-Tupelo is honored to be serving their friends.
Patsy is survived by her brother, Robert Wise and his wife, Connie, of Amory; his niece, Melanie Barnes of Amory, and two nephews, Aaron Wise and wife, Brianna, of Thailand, and Kirby Sykes of Okolona. Patsy was preceded in death by her parents, her son, Chris, and his dad, Clifton “Bugg’ Thomas, and a sister, Wanda Wise Sykes, who died in 1989 at age 32.
