Patsy Marie Adair GoodnessPatsy Marie Adair Goodness, age 68, wife of David Goodness, and a resident of Columbia, Tennessee, passed away on Wednesday, May 22, 2024, at NHC Heartland in Nashville.

 

A funeral service will be held on Sunday, May 26, 2024, at 4:00 PM at Heritage Funeral Home with Jerry Adair, Jr. officiating. Following the service, she will be laid to rest in Maury Memorial Gardens. A visitation will be held on Saturday, May 25, 2024, from 4:00 – 8:00 PM at the funeral home. Heritage Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.

 

Born on April 16, 1956, in Hohenwald, Tennessee, Patsy was the daughter of the late James Herman Adair and the late Audrey Jewell Long Adair. She was a 1974 graduate of Lewis County High School and married David Goodness on August 30, 1985. She worked as a teller for First Federal Bank and Kentucky Finance and later worked in shipping and receiving at Spontex Industrial. Most recently, Patsy worked many years in medical billing for PCA Southeast in Columbia before retiring in 2022.

 

A devoted, longtime member of Highland Park Baptist Church, Patsy played a significant role in childcare, Sunday School, music, and youth groups. She had a passion for music and singing, enjoyed gardening and tending to her flowers, and was an enthusiastic Vanderbilt Commodores fan. Patsy was a nurturing, mother-like figure to everyone, especially her grandchildren, and she will be deeply missed by those who knew and loved her.

 

In addition to her husband, she is survived by her cherished daughters, Laura (Landon) Ryan of Fayetteville, TN, Susan (Tyler) Raines of Columbia, TN, brothers, James (Brenda) Adair of Knoxville, TN, Jerry Adair of Georgia, Terry (Lila) Adair of Georgia, beloved grandchildren, Mason Ryan, Noah Ryan, Lincoln Raines, numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews, and the many kids she cared for at the church.

 

Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her stepdaughter, Cheri Goodness.

 

Those proudly serving as pallbearers will be Landon Ryan, Tyler Raines, Jerry Adair, Jr., Adam Ryan, and Spenser Ryan. Honorary pallbearers will include Mason Ryan, Noah Ryan, Lincoln Raines, and the Highland Park Baptist Church Choir.
