Mrs. Patsy Mae Cooper was born July 18, 1940, in Colbert County, Alabama to Mr. Robert B. Ford and Mrs. Frankie Mae Ford. She departed this life of October 7, 2023, at Helen Keller Hospital in Sheffield, Alabama.

She accepted Christ at an early age. She was employed by Wayne Farms in Decatur, Alabama. She was a dedicated employee until she retired after 35 years of service. In her spare time, she enjoyed gardening, decorating, and spending time with family and friends. She is preceded in death by her father, Robert B. Ford, mother, Frankie Mae Ford, husband, Layman Cooper, brothers, Robert G. Ford and Bobby Jean Ford, and her longtime companion, Aubrey Bowman.

She leaves to cherish her memories: three brothers, Roosevelt Ford (Mosella), Earnest Ford of Leighton, Alabama, and Edward Ford (Janice) of Florence, Alabama; five sisters, Annie Ford Howlet of Town Creek, Alabama, Mattie Ford Johnson of Crown Point, Indiana, Barbra Ford Morris of Atlanta, Georgia, and Rosa Ford (Merrill) Province of Madison, Alabama, and Diane Ford Cobb (Jessie) of Muscle Shoals, Alabama.

Her legacy continues with her four children: Mildred Cooper of Auburn, Alabama, Selwyn (Melissa) Cooper of Tuscumbia, Alabama, Aubrey Cooper (Lesley) of Courtland, Alabama, Tasha Cooper of Decatur, Alabama; her twelve grandchildren: Markheia Swearengen (LeAnthony) of Murfreesboro, Tennessee, Direcus Cooper (Lanora) of Birmingham, Alabama, Kyosha Yarbrough of Houston, Texas, Zamera Cooper of Florence, Alabama, Tobaris Freeman of Auburn, Alabama, Kelsey Cooper of Decatur, Alabama, Raven Saadiq (Yusuf) of Atlanta, Georgia, Keyonna Cooper of Decatur, Alabama, Kiephn Cooper of Decatur, Alabama, Tierra Tucker (Shannon) of Decatur, Alabama, Avery Cooper of Leighton, Alabama and Kairon Cooper of Leighton, Alabama, a special cousin/caretaker, Willia Jones of Tuscumbia, Alabama, and a host of great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, relatives, and friends.
