In Loving Memory of Patsy Bishop
Patsy Bishop, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend, passed away peacefully in her sleep on Tuesday morning. Patsy was loved by everyone who met her. She was always the life of the party, showing her love through her amazing cooking and cherishing gatherings with family for nights filled with laughter and card games.
She filled her family’s lives with warmth and affirmation. Hugs and “I love yous” were a tradition in her home—whether greeting, saying goodbye, or ending a phone call, love was always at the center of her words and actions. She often reminisced about her many trips from Wyoming to Colorado and the vacations and road trips she enjoyed all over the United States. Patsy was a traditional family woman with a strong faith in God and was faithful to her husband in ways admired by all. She had a passion for music and found joy in listening, dancing, and singing along to her favorite songs.
Patsy grew up in Colorado Springs, where she met and married the love of her life, Samuel Bishop, a Tennessee native stationed at Ft. Carson, Colorado. Shortly after the birth of their daughter, Christina, they moved to Green River, Wyoming. Patsy enjoyed many years working in the bakery and deli department at City Market, where her warm personality and hard work shone brightly.
In 1996, the family relocated to Jackson, Tennessee, where Patsy embraced her role as a grandmother and great-grandmother. She was proud of her work in manufacturing, including nine years at Delta Faucet, before taking early retirement due to health reasons.
Patsy is survived by her loving husband, Samuel Bishop; her cherished dog and best friend, Henry J.; her devoted daughter, Christina Bishop; her grandchildren, Matthew Mullen and Daniel Harwell; and great-grandchildren, Niomi and Z’kahri. She is also survived by her siblings, Bessie Vigil, Estella Vigil, Esedor Quintana, and Steve Quintana. Patsy joins her parents, Emilia Quintana and Manuel Valdez, and her siblings, William Quintana, Augustine Quintana, Leroy Quintana, Macario Quintana, and Helen Quintana, who preceded her in death.
Her wishes were to be cremated with a private viewing for immediate family, including her beloved Henry.
Patsy will be remembered for her joyful spirit, her love for family, and the beauty she saw in life’s simplest moments. Her legacy of love and laughter will live on in the hearts of all who knew her.
